• These elegant candles are handmade from a 100% natural and organic source, a Japanese fruit called “haze”. Haze has been used in Japan for centuries to make wax for Warosoku (wa = Japanese, rosoku = candles). Haze is also known as “Japanese wax tree fruit” for its excellent qualities as an ingredient for making candles.
• The wick is made of Japanese paper (wash), Igusa grass and cotton, which are all sourced locally from Nara, Japan.
• Handmade using "Tegake-seiho", a traditional Japanese candle-making technique wherein wax is applied in layers around a wick.
• As these candles are entirely plant-based, they’re less likely to drip and release soot. The larger and brighter flame burns slowly and provides a gentle glow which creates a calming and soothing effect.
